The Fool's Goal
Today marks the first day of the rest of your life. Where are you going? What are you preparing for? What is your mission? Why are you here?
Have you given significant thought to what you really want to accomplish in this life before you die? Now that may be a bit harsh for some but the truth is no one gets out of this life alive. Life is long on opportunities but short on the number of people who actually take advantage of the opportunities afforded them.
Why do so many opportunities go pass us by? Here are a few possible scenarios.
1. Lack of vision.
2. Fear.
3. Unforgiveness.
Lack of Vision
There is a scripture in the Bible that says without a vision, the people perish. This age old truth applies to us as individuals. Without something to live for, we die before we begin to truly live. No life is created without purpose. Your life has reason, meaning and mission built in. By establishing a vision and being clear on what you are setting out to do, to be and accomplish you create opportunities to success and reach your goals and you are able to clearly spot the opportunities that were designed for you to take advantage of and advance your dreams to greater reality. If you can see it, you can achieve it!
Fear
This is the big one but the most common one. We all have fears. While fear may feel like a natural companion, it is not natural to be ruled by fear. Fear benefits us in ways to help us preserve and protect but it can also prevent. It can prevent us from being who we need to be when need to be it as we reach for our best life now. Ultimately, we have to feel the fear and do it anyway. I've said it before and this continues to be true..."everything you want is on the other side of fear". Are you willing to call the bluff on fear and step out and do something that will change your life. Do you think doing what you have really always wanted to do would be a life changing action?
As an example, for most people firing their boss would be a life changing action. What do you really want to do and are you willing to do it? If you are tired of your job and being bossed around what steps should you be taking to change that? What fear my be preventing you from enacting your plan and taking action? It has been said that F.E.A.R. means False Evidence Appearing Real. What you image is usually worse than reality and what you fear isn't to be much feared at all. The bark of fear is much bigger than the bite. I like to say, "Do the thing, and you shall have the power". Nothing trumps fear but courage in action. It turns out that you don't have much to fear after all! Do it now!
Unforgiveness
Unforgiveness is sneaky. This one is sneaky because when we hold unforgiveness we think we are punishing others when in fact we are only punishing ourselves. While others are sleeping well, we are in anguish over how bad we've been treated or violated and by showing our anger we think we are making a point. Actually, we want them to feel the hurt that they have inflicted on us. How can you freely enjoy life and spot opportunities to grow your future if you are focused on your on hurts and negative feelings? To forgive is to release yourself and the other person but more so yourself. Life and just and we are rewarded for the works we do, good or bad. You don't have to worry about punishing the other person through unforgiveness. Let just reign but more importantly, let your life continue on. Greatness is born out of adversity so turn your lemons into lemonade as the old saying goes.
I'm being really simplistic here as unforgiveness can be complex for many people who have suffered horribles crimes or offenses. No matter the hurt we must all find a way to release ourselves emotionally for healthy living and success motivation. Forgiveness may not happen in one lump sum. Intent makes all the difference. If you are intent on releasing unforgiveness then you can forgive one moment at a time, on hour at a time, on day at a time, one memory at a time...Whatever it takes, you can take it as it comes and take your life to new levels of fulfillment.
The Fool's Goal
But what is the fool's goal. The fools goal is to do what it takes reach goals. It is being willing to risk failure, look foolish and make mistakes to live the full life afforded to everyone. You must be willing to do what others won't. You must be willing to believe in what you can achieve when others won't. You must be willing to take action when others won't. You must be fool and not a fan of the mass thinking. You will easily look like a fool when you refuse to play it safe. When you speak contrary to group thinking and choose independence and your own path you will look like a fool.
You look like fool when you believe your wildest dreams can come true. You look like a fool when you embark on the journey towards your greatest dreams and you don't know all the details about getting it done or where you will get the resources. You look like a fool when you forgive in the face of hurt. You look like a fool when you love instead of hate.
You are fool when you believe in miracles and that "it can happen for you". Are you willing to look foolish by thinking big and acting big when you life may seem to be small right now? It doesn't matter where you start. Just start. What matters most is how you finish and where you finish. My hope is that you will foolishly pursue your wildest dreams and biggest goals with childlike belief in your possibilities and that you finish your course of life strong and having used life up magnificently!
Blessings to you.

Setting "Faith" Goals
Yes, this blog is still very much alive and well! Some weeks ago I posted that I would be returning to my regular scheduled posts which is about every 2 to 3 days. I'm still working towards that even though my schedule has been quite hectic offline. Upgrade Your Mind is a passion for me and time has been my challenge for now. This is okay. Life ebbs and flows and so my challenge is the keep up my momentum and passion in the midst of the unexpected and the winds of change. This is another opportunity for growth. :-)
What Is A Faith Goal?
Let's talk goals and goal setting. Let's specifically talk about faith goals. What is a faith goal? A faith goal is a goal set in hope and based on things unseen. It is setting a goal that is measurable and based on spiritual power. That is, the power to create and imagine what is not yet seen or made manifest. There isn't anything around us that has been made which was not first a picture or image in the mind of someone else. That is power! You have creative powers of imagination that can allow you to design the optimal life and the optimal changes you desire.
The powerful thing about this spiritual power is that you have the ability to pre-play your success and arrive at your success destinations before you actually get there. You can literally create something from nothing by first imagining that it can exist and believing that you can make it so! According to Merriam-Webseter's Online Dictionary , spiritual means relating to, consisting of, or affecting the spirit. Spirit is defined as an animating or vital principal held to give life to physical organisms. In addition is also relates to the immaterial as well as the mental disposition of a person.
Faith Goals Start With Spiritual Power
Your creative powers are immaterial and invaluable. Your ability to imagine and execute greatness is rooted in your invisible power to see the unseen and manifest the immaterial. That's spiritual power at work. I'm sure you will agree that imagination is immaterial and intangible but undeniably a "real" aspect of our personhood and existence. We have great works of art, music, literature and architecture to testify to our ability to create and make manifest in our physical world those things, ideas or pictures that started in our imagination.
Your spirit of mind or mental disposition is the hinge on which your all that you can imagine turns. The mind that can believe something, can indeed achieve that very thing. There is a widely applicable truth that says "as a man thinks...so is he". What you think determines what you do and what you do determines what you become.
To successfully set faith goals you have to balance measurable objectives with big dreams that may seem impossible. You also have to give yourself the opportunity for success by believing that you can accomplish your goals.
3 Characteristics Of A Faith Goal
Here are 3 characteristics of a faith goal that I learned from a book on finances I was reading the other day. I've provided my comments for each point to reflect my thoughts on what each point can mean for you as well. I wanted to share these because they are powerful and most of us seem to know these are true at some level of our being.
1. The means of accomplishing a faith goal may not be self-evident
You may have a dream of becoming someone and doing something that hasn't been done before or least done before by someone you know. You may not have a model or precedent for what you want to achieve. Nevertheless, you must prepare for your success and believe that provision is provided in pursuit of your vision. You will get the help you need when you believe in yourself and do what you need to do to act in the interest of your own success.2. Setting a faith goal means that you probably have inadequate resources to start with
You can get there from here. Don't let your present resources determine you ability to achieve your dreams. The greatest achievements the world has ever seen started with a dream that was big enough to marshal and command the resources to gather in support of that dream. Be bold in your belief and actions and you will attract the favor, finances and friends to help you achieve your success.3. Setting a faith goal means that you may be setting an objective without fully understanding it
You may want to start a new media company or an automotive performance shop because you have a passionate interest in those areas but you don't have a full understanding of how to do specific jobs or even how to immediately make it happen. Whatever the case and whatever the dream you don't have to have a full understanding of how your goals will be achieved before setting a goal. It is important that you exercise some faith and see the unseen. See the end from the beginning without having to know every single detail that needs to be filled in the middle.
Wow...imagine that? (no pun intended)
You have to get goals for laser-like focus and powerful success. When setting goals be willing to think big and imagine big, bold achievements. Don't limit your potential. Instead, unleash your imagination and creativity. Believe to achieve.

Definitiveness: What's Your Meaning?
Defining moments are a part of life. At various points along the our journey we experience situations and circumstances that define us. Defining moments are those times where we are affected and change for better or for worse. It's those moments where things never were quite the same. Those moment can be big or small. It is the affect on that defines us as a result of that moment in time.
Ultimately we are defining ourselves every waking moment of the the day. The challenge is the become movers and shakers within the experience of living instead of being moved and shaken by the circumstances of life.
When you define who you are, you are prepared to act with clarity and power in every situation. When you clearly define who you are and what you are you establishin your potential power to overcome at every turn. You will cease looking at the challenges of life as indicators of what is not possible. Instead, you will begin to look within yourself and realize what is possible because you've already establish what you are and who you are.
Definition Equals Empowerment
Defining yourself allows you to leverage those powerfully defining moments of life. When those defining moments of hardship occur you are able to rise to the occasion and overcome. You won't just drift along and allow yourself to be buffet to and fro when the storms of life blow. Also By defining yourself you are able to take full advantage of those defining moments opportunity as well. You will have clearly defined your capabilities and instead of shrinking back in doubt, fear or unbelief you will be able to run at full strength to propel yourself for greater success than ever before. Define your life or someone else and some "thing" else will do it for you. There is no middle ground here. You are constantly adopted and acting on beliefs you've defined for yourself or you are adopting and acting on what other people and things are attempted to say about you.
The reality is that to achieve anything great you have to believe and become greater than you are now. That isn't always easy. What's more is that you will undoubtedly run into people and situations that will tell you just the opposite of what you are. You will have to clearly define who you are in order to triumph over adversity. There is no triumph without the "try". Knowing who you are and what you want provides the necessary power to support your persistence. Without definition there is no meaning...literally.
Life Is A Dictionary and You Are A Word: What's Your Meaning?
What is a word without a definition? It is just word, right? You can say or use word without know the definition of it but it could be out of context and irrelevant. But when a word is defined you now have the necessary understanding, purpose and reason for the usage of the word. You can then use that word within a written context or spoken context to great effectiveness. For example, you are able to strike the right level of meaning and understanding in communication by using the right word in the right situation.
So it goes with your life. By provide definition to your life you are providing the necessary understanding, purpose and reason to persevere. You have full meaning for your actions and you are able to examine your life's context with understand and precision. You are able to determine when you and situations are out of context and you can adjust your life for the context that your definition works within.
Think of it as rewriting a sentence to express the full and accurate meaning of a word you want to use. Instead of changing the definition of the word to one that isn't correct and instead of changing the word entirely you rework your sentence and use the word with its correct definition and meaning. By know the definition of the word you are able to clearly understand what type of context (in this case it is a correct sentence) works for your word. The meaning of the word makes all the difference. Imagine that you are a word in search of a definition and meaning within the correct sentence (context).
Life is very similar. Instead of allowing your situations and circumstances to define you or change you entirely, you rework your situations to conform to the definition you've already established for yourself. Without defining your life you will become subject to any defining moments in life and along the way you will pick up a variety of definitions that do you apply to you. What happens is that you operate on false meanings and live your life within a context that doesn't fit.
Begin charting your course and defining your life today. In my next post I'll share 4 important definitions you must establish for great success motivation and powerful positive thinking.

Get Ready, Get Set...Reset!
How are your goals coming along for this 2005. I hope you are fixated on making 2005 your best year ever! Some of my goals are coming along fantastically. One of my goals as you know was to take steps towards becoming and success motivation speaker. I did take that first step and was able to check off one major goal setting objective for this year. WooHoo!. This step was important for self-confidence and building up my own personal series of wins for my own self-improvement.
Are you working on your goals and objectives for this year? I encourage you to do that. Today I'm spending time rethinking my goals and tweaking my focus and commitment to achieving them. I've been feeling a bit stagnant in certain areas and I began to ask myself why.
I realized that was had fallen into focusing on some things were not priorities based on my goals. I began focusing and majoring in minor things instead of the major things that matter most.
I am also rewriting a few goals as well because I need to get clearer on what I want and why I want it. But I also need to make them a bit more challenging and desirous.
Sometimes we set goals that are either too lofty or not challenging enough. Here's what I mean. If you set a goal for a certain income level, sometimes that goal can be way beyond what you can even fathom. What can happen is that you are targeting a goal that you cannot even wrap your mind around. What you can do instead is adjust the goal to something that is very exciting and just beyond your reach but absolutely achievable.
Setting a goal that is beyond your reach be achievable is a goal that will challenge you to grow, learn and become what you need to be in order to achieve the goal. A believable goal is one that fuels your perceived possibilities. You will pursue a goal that you believe you can achieve. Now I'm not saying that you should limit how big your goals you should be. I'm actually saying that make you goals as big as you can believe they should be and that you believe you can achieve.
Make sure you goals are impossible in your own mind because that is where the difference is made. If you believe you can achieve your goals you will pursue them. You goals will keep you focused on your finish during tough times and boring times. You have energy to press through the challenges and everyday becomes exciting because of your goals. If you aren't excited about life and you find that 2005 isn't unfolding as you had expected then perhaps you should revisit the goals you set for this year.
If you goals are not lofty enough you should reset them. If your goals are too lofty then you should reset them. Never fall in love with one way to achieve a goal. Always remain flexible in your pursuit goal achievement. You never know what opportunities will open up to accelerate your goal achievement. But... you have to start will goals that are measurable, believable and worthy of your time and energy to pursue.
Sometimes you have to get ready, get set and then reset. That is what I'm going to be doing today for some of my goals. Goal setting is exciting and just dreaming up the possibilities and then putting it in writing can be powerful.
Ultimately you are in control of your destiny and with a simple decision to pursue a worthy goal you can change your entirely life...forever.

Ready, Set, Goals! - Daily Success Motivation
Wow. I was reading through my inbox and come across a very powerful article on goal setting. Many goals are set with a negative mechanism that results in some type of deprivation instead of healthy daily motivation for success.
For example, two of the most popular goals that are set and then reset around New Years is the goal to quit smoking and the goal to lose weight.
With the best of intent many people say to themselves, "I'm going to quit smoking!" or "I'm going stop eating junk and lose weight!". But there is something amiss here.
When you have an established behavior or habit like smoking or unhealthy eating habits you cannot stop a habit threw through negative affirmation or deprivation. By deciding to quit smoking because it's bad and you know it kills is to affirm the negative effects of smoking. You will still crave a cigarette. To decide to just stop smoking is an exercise in deprivation. There are some who have had success with the method but most do not. There is no positive support or success motivation with this approach.
The same applies with dieting. To deprive yourself of food is an exercise in short term success for trying to lose weight and get healthy.
So what am I saying to you?
I am saying that to lose weight, to stop smoking or to initiate any other positive change in your life you must be ready to set goals that are motivated by a dream that is much, much bigger and positive than just the change itself.
For example instead of saying I'm going to stop eating, begin to SEE yourself eating healthy, working out regularly and enjoying the benefits of a healthier, happier lifestyle. Immerse yourself in the positive benefits of the dream of wearing nice fitting clothes and feeling energized.
This is one of the surest ways to sustain positive change. It doesn't matter whether it's a smoking habit or eating habit. When you are motivated by the "dream" you will see and experience more radical change in your thoughts and actions.
The best goals for daily success motivation requires you to create a plan for your life based on a set or group of personal dreams. You don't have to live your life in random fashion nor do you have to got through the New Year's ritual of setting "resolutions" that don't resolve anything. Goal setting isn't hard. You don't have be frustrated by abandoned goals or unresolved resolutions.
Instead, try goal setting that targets your the life of your dreams and then visualize your dreams coming true.
Are you ready? Get Set! GOAL!!

The Power of Focus - Developing Unusual Clarity
Hello again! Strategy number three from the Power of Focus is Developing Unusual Clarity. No discussion abou the power of focus is complete without the discussion of clarity.
Clarity is absolutly essential and critical to all success motivation and goal setting endeavors. To have an measure of success in your life and any measureable positive change, you have to envision your results and develop a clear picture of what you want.
Clarity is critical and it starts with spending time thinking for a change. Literally. Developing unusual clarity requires you the schedule time to think and create exciting pictures of your future. Scheduling time to think may sound a bit unusual but it will transform your power to succeed.
Jim Rohn said:
How powerful! Consider doing the "rocking chair test" and review your life backwards by projecting your life forward to a ripe old age of say 80 years old. Use your imagination. In looking back on your life what regrets do you not want? What legacy do you want to leave. How would like to have lived your life from having the ability to back from the age of 80 years?
What is that you are desirous of achieving and without its accomplishment might perhaps lend itself to a bit of regret for you? What disciplines are you willing to practice now in order to avoid regret later on in life? I can assure that choose to disclipine yourself now will weigh in ounces compared to the regret weight of regret felt for not having followed dreams and taken chance opportunities to experience a rich and rewarding life experience.
How about reserving some time on one day per week to just think. Think about your life, your opportunities and all that you want to accomplish. Just remove the excess noice and clutter from your mind and shut out all other messages about who others may say you are and beging to just think about who YOU think you are and what you want to do, become and have.
From there you need to create and exciting picture of your future. This is goal setting 101. You have to have a picture of where you going and it must be exciting enough to ignite success motivation form within you and it should be challenging enough to keep you from slipping back into a lifestyle of mediocrity and average results. Developing unusual clarity requires the discipline of goal setting.
Goal setting for unusual clarity is thinking from the big picture and identifying the specific steps to achieving those goals. A goal is the ongoing pursuit of a worthy objective until accomplished.
Goal setting is the best way to measure progress and create unusual clarity. Instead of random generalities you create meaninful specifics in your life. You remove the drift and randomness factors from your life and accelerate your success!
Here is a Top 10 Goal Setting checklist from The Power of Focus that will help you create unusual clarity in your life:
1. Your most important goals must be yours.
2. Your goals must be meaningful.
3. Your must be specific and measurable.
4. Your goals must be flexible.
5. Your goals must be challenging and exciting.
6. Your goals must be in alignment with your core values.
7. Your goals must be well balanced.
8. Your goals must be realistic.

10. Your goals need to be supported.
Goal setting creates the success habit of continuously visualizing, thinking, reflecting, and review your life's progress through a set of clearly defines objectives that create positive excitement and hope for a better future. Afterall, you have to see it before you can achieve it.

Got Goals?!
Goal Setting for Systematic Success
Do you have goals? Success is not a mystery. It is systematic and predictable. Success is a series of actions and systems that start with a specific goal. You can duplicate success but taking the same successful actions of those achieving what you desire to achieve and then implementing them into your own life.
One of those systematic and predictable actions of the successful is goal setting.
Have you even taken the time alone to ask yourself about what you really want to do, have and become? Positive change and success is not a mystery. The successful persons in any field have established chief aims and definite purposes for what they want to achieve. Noted success coach and self improvement leader, Brian Tracy has stated that goal setting improves your chances for success by 1000%. You get a tenfold increase in your performance just by setting a goal!
Yet, 97% of people fail to set goals. Why? Well most of people haven't been shown how to properly set goals and benefit from the powerful positive change that results by setting a goal and then taking action towards achieving that goal.
The answer to any life change is to set a goal and take action. A goal puts your focus on what you want and creates a positive drive to achieve it (the goal). This in turn creates a sense of progress and you will begin to feel in control of the direction of your life and you will experience a greater sense of purpose.
Set a goal to change, and you will change. Set a goal to think differently, and you will begin to think differently. Set a goal to perform differently and you will perform differently.
Here are a few quick tips for goal setting success.
1. Decide. Decide today that you are ready to change and that real change starts with YOU. It's your life and you own it! Take responsibility and let go of the excuses. You can start fresh right now and build the life you desire no matter what you experiences have been to date. You have the natural ability to change your life the moment you change your mind and decide to think for a change.2. Choose A Meaningful And Challenging Goal. You should decide to achieve something that is in full alignment with your sense of purpose and belief. When you act according to your core values and you don't feel you are compromising what you really believe in, you are building a solid platform for the necessary character it will take to keep with it. When you believe in what you are doing you will not have difficultly keeping your committment. There is difference between trying to become more than you are today versus trying to become someone completely different from your center, or core value system. With that said, your goal should challenge you to change and stretch your being but at the same time your goal should remain achievable and measurable. In other words, it must be something that you can believe for and reach for.
3. Establish A Plan. You need a plan that will take you step-by-step towards goal achievement. Many people get stuck and never act on their goals because they fail to establish a plan of action. Your plan should provide you with a blueprint for getting the things done that get you to your goals.
4. Stick To The Plan. Your goal is your promise to yourself. You must stick to your plan and keep your promise to do what you committed yourself to doing. You plan is a roadmap. Stick to it. It doesn't have to be difficult. As the saying goes: "How do you eat an elephant? Once bite at a time!" Don't try and accomplish too much too soon. You will only frustrate your efforts. Be kind to yourself and be comfortable with your plans. Goal setting automatically puts you in the top 3% of people who desire to achieve success through goal setting. Success is achieved one moment at a time. Just relax and enjoy. You will get there.
