Do You Need A New Name?

Sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me!

So goes the famous childhood taunt. Be we know better. Words do hurt if we aren't prepared mentally and emotionally with words of our own. Words never hurt the person who has already chosen what words apply to them and which words do not. This is especially true of names. If you know who you are and what you are, it doesn't matter what someone else thinks. What you really think about yourself is what really counts right?

Names are significant. Names carry meaning. Names can be labels that carry authority. Names reflect origin and nationality. Names represent what you do and can also represent who you are.

Or do they? Positive thinking about who you are is just as important as positive thinking about what you can do. You cannot do anything that you cannot first see yourself accomplishing in your minds eye. Every label or name something has taken the liberty to assign to you doesn't always apply. I don't care how long they've labeled with a certain name. When we accept negative names as the truth about ourselves, our lives will become self-fulfilling prophecies and it will appear that someone easily was right about us. Well, that's a false positive because even if we do find ourselves living out the negative beliefs of others it is not the truth or whole story about us. It's time to change!

What Labels Do You Associate With?
So let me ask you this question. What labels do you immediately identify with? Do you identify with labels such as powerful, successful, or happy? Or do you associate closely with labels such as failure, lack and fear? You will unavoidably follow through on those labels which you feel best describe you. Your mind is programmed to make your dreams come true. You subconscious mind does not distringuish what is false or real. It's job is the make you believe a reality. Part of your mind's magnificent job is to make the immaterial, material. Your creative powers of mind will manifest what you constantly see in your mind.

If you are struggling with labels that do not reflect who you really are then you must cast off those labels. You are not bound by the words of other people! It's only when you believe their labels and limitations about you are true, will you be relunctant to break free. Only if you believe that their low expectation of your outcomes is more meaningful than your desire to create magnificent outcomes will you remain captive.

Do You Need A New Name?
You need a new name if you are struggling against negative labels. If someone has cursed you and poisened your heart and mind with negative words you can change your life right now by choosing to associate yourself with new labels and giving yourself a new name. A new name can signify a completely new life without any reference to the old life. In the bible, new names were given to signify a milestone event or a change of life, character and purpose. When someone takes an office of leadership they are given a new name or label to signify their change of life, character in purpose. How about President, CEO, Ambassador, King?

A new name gives you a new start. A new name can set new standards and expectations, a new name can set your focus and give you inspiration and new purpose!. You may not be moving into a powerful corporate position or lofty and influential political position but you are moving through your own personal life and that matters just as much. No matter what your position in life is, whether parent or president, what will matter most to your performance is the name by which you call yourself and the meaning it carries for you!

You no longer have to carry the burden or curse of someone else's labels and names for you. Take on labels and names that speak to your unique intelligence, capabilities and creative power. You are the key to unlocking your riches. Your destiny will be decided by what you do not by what someone else predicts you will do. What do they know?! Most people speaking negative words to you or anybody else only continues to poisen themselves. We all reap what we sow. That includes the words we speak. Speak life! Change your name. Your new life begins right now!

Love this message! I actually did change my name, first, middle and last, when I got my divorce a year ago. I just realized last week that I don't even connect to my old first name. I hear it, and it's like a completely different person being talked about. The power of giving yourself a new name is amazing!
