Daily Success Motivation and Positive Thinking

I was asked this question a few days ago. What is my definition of success and greatness? Well, I'm on a journey that is ever evolving. I'm constantly seeking to deepen my understanding of success for better motivation and personal inspiration. My definition of success and greatness changes. I mature my understanding through examination of my personal experiences and those of others. This is a great question! Right now, here is a snapshot of how I position success and greatness as I continue to stretch my understanding and experience with both.

Wow...I believe true success in rooted in happiness and is sustained by a personal sense of purpose. I define happiness as feeling good about yourself, your relationships and your accomplishments. You are successful when you are being who you believe you are to be in order to deliver good to the world and that your relationships and your accomplishments support and reflect who you are and what your life's mission is.

Success is advancing your true self and success is the abundance of life you experience on the inside when you are acting out your highest values and strongest beliefs.

Success is many different things to many different people and while our American culture places high value material things and says you are successful by how you look and what you possess, success is in fact a thousand different shades of who we are and what we are becoming.

I believe success is supported by 3 major areas of our lives. You can break each area down into smaller components but to keep things simple I believe they are:

Our sense of self
Our sense of relationship
Our sense of accomplishment

None of these things can be successfully engaged in until we have chosen who we are to become, what relationships we are to have and what we are to accomplish with out lives.

Success is something we choose to have and believe we deserve. We don't stumble into success and once the choice is made to go forth and succeed, nothing else can keep us from our own success.

You cannot measure a man or woman by how much of the material world he or she has acquired although the accumulation of material goods can be one indicator of success.

Success is first a decision to succeed. Success is secondly a state of mind and view of your world and success is living your ideal life according to your desire.

Greatness is born of great vision and is rooted in passion to serve others and make the world a better place. When you choose to follow your mission to do something fantastic you are acting out of greatness. When you want to change the world - that is greatness. Only greatness will change the world. Only your greatness will change your world. If changing your world means healing your marriage, making your community safer, growing strong kids, building a powerful family then that is greatness rising.

When you leave the world better off than when you came in that is greatness. When you have served your fellow man with passion, integrity, good character and commitment that is greatness. When you've used life up that is greatness!

There are many people who have material success but aren't great. There are many people who are poor and aren't great. There are many rich and poor who are indeed great!

Great people inspire change and create change that will last for generations to come. Greatness starts where you are and by leading where you live.

Success is the living of your life with happiness and the continual accomplishment of all that you set your heart and mind to do. Greatness is the expansion of your personal humanity and your capacity to serve others in life changing ways. It is serving others in the big things and the small things as you journey through your life. Greatness is realizing your fullest potential, acknowledging your greatest strengths and using your Gog-given talent as a model of compassion, passion, and servitude.
