Charged with Fraud!
That's right. I want to talk about those internal accusations of fraud that we tend to make against ourselves.
Some of use just plain get stuck on "stop" and don't know how to reset or "go" again. There are a few issues at the heart of struggling for change. There's Readiness, Steadiness, Doubt in the details. We struggle with crossing the gap between where we are and who we are to where we want to be and who we know we can be.
One of the biggest challenges of changing our lives is the feeling that we are faking it. We feel like someone may find out that we truly aren't capable and or that we aren't qualified. We accuse ourselves of being a fraud.
I present to you a few steps to first get unstuck and to get change going but also how to silence those accusations of fraud that may come to hamper your efforts to initiate change and walk according to your true gifts and talents.
Readiness
No amount of positive thinking or success motivation coaching will changes us if we are not ready to change. Readiness starts with responsibility. We have to be responsibility to ourselves for our life's decisions and choose to be responsible for good stewardship of our God-given abilities and talents and to pursue destiny for the ultimate fulfilled life.
Nothing less than this will ever satisfy. When we are really ready to change we can pinpoint the teachings and instructions necessary to effect change. That is because we are hungry for change. Our hearts or fixed and our minds are sober. Like a laser we zero in on the change factors necessary for our success and we gather to courage to break free of our "stuck states" and follow the dream.
Steadiness
Steadiness is critical. Steadiness is what you need when honeymoon is over. Steadiness is what you need when you make the first payment on that new car (if you didn't pay cash). Steadiness is what you need when the excitement wears off. Steadiness is grounded in the commitment to finish strong no matter what. It is the self honor system to stay true to yourself and to finish what you started especially when it gets tough.
Without steadiness we cannot finish the course. Steadiness is the self-paced life where you commitment is to compete against yourself and to be your personal best. Sure there are competitive scenarios that you may need to respond to but responding to your personal commitment to do your best in ever situation is power that ensures your success. You put your own success in your hands and not another. Steadiness keeps you on course when it looks like things are of course. It keeps you a winner on the inside when the outside situation appears to say that you have lost. Steadiness see beyond the moment because it helps you keep your eye on the prize. Stay steady and stay ready.
The Doubt is in the Details
The doubt and the accusations of fraud are in the details or the lack thereof. A simple task that I learned and that many of us fail to do is to clearly define on paper who were are and what we do. Not who you day job or your business says you are. Who you say you are.
You can have and idea of who you are and what you do in your head but until you clearly define that and put it on paper you will not be able to commit to that and silence the false accusations of fraud. You will be amazed and how have a clear understanding of who you are deters any thoughts, feelings or words that are contrary to what you know. Part of staying steady is know who you are.
It isn't enough to think about who you are. You have to write the vision and make it plain. Work it out on paper. Write out who you are. Put all of your senses into and feel it, see it, think it and say it. Define what you do. That is, define what value you bring and what your unique advantages and talents are. Define you capabilities.
You are not a fraud. You can be whatever you want to be. Everyone has a beginning. Setting goals just isn't about reaching and objective. It is more about or should be more about who you must become in order to attain and sustain your targeted success.
That means that you are desire to be isn't who you are now. Change is part of life and you should expect yourself to change and grow. Who you are today should not be who you were 10 years ago. While you are the same in a lot of ways you must get better. Define who you are and what you provide. Marry that to a vision that is about designing and magnificent life of greatness.
Do not despise your small starts and short stops. Just get ready, stay steady and know that doubt is just the result of not enough detail about who you are and where you are going.
