Now this is outrageous in my opinion. If the employee claims are true that is. I've not followed this case but I did pick up the RSS feed on this from Slashdot.com.

Click there for more information. Apparently a technology employee developed technology IDEA apparently valuable enough to his employer for them fight him in court for the past 7 years. His (employee Evan Brown) claim is that his development of the IDEA began 12 years prior to his employment with DSC Communications Corporation.

I guess the summation is: Employee develops idea on his own time. Goes to work for Big Corp. Big Corp says we own that thought and (apparently his off time as well?), goes to court and wins.

I'm not sure what the details are and please feel free to follow the Slashdot link to further coverage but it goes to show you that IDEAS are the new currency and basis for Information Age based business.

Ideas are powerful. Powerful to change lives. Powerful to change the destiny of a giant corporation.

Your mind is indeed your greatest asset and ally. Protect it, develop it and respect your mind, thoughts and ideas.
